Overview:
As a Patient Services Coordinator II, you will play a vital role in the operations of our healthcare facility. This position is part-time and involves providing administrative support for patient service functions related to the check-out processes within our medical practice.

Position Summary:
Your responsibilities will include the collection and processing of encounter form data, managing outstanding balances, and ensuring accurate payment processing for services rendered. You will also be tasked with balancing work and computer records at the end of each day.

The Patient Services Coordinator II is expected to efficiently follow up on claim issues, manage accounts receivable, and respond to inquiries from insurance providers, patients, and office staff. A minimum of 32 tasks per day or equivalent assignments will be expected, along with additional duties as assigned based on the specific functional area within the Business Office.

This role also involves serving as a resource for Patient Services Coordinators I, providing training and assistance with more complex issues.


Key Responsibilities:
+ Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.
+ Answer telephone calls and route them appropriately.
+ Record changes in patient information accurately.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of insurance procedures and provider participation.
+ Ensure that procedures and corresponding diagnoses are accurately recorded for billing purposes.
+ Schedule appointments for follow-up visits and manage end-of-day balancing procedures.
+ Compile data for billing personnel.
+ Collaborate with patients, physicians, and other care team members to enhance overall patient care.
+ Participate in required meetings and committees as directed.
+ Complete annual education assignments and engage in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
While no specific educational background is mandated, a combination of formal education and/or relevant work experience that demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills is acceptable. Preference may be given to candidates with a high school diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience:
One year of experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of clinic appointment scheduling and collection processes, as well as familiarity with ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding, is required. Alternatively, a minimum of three years of total customer-facing or customer service experience is acceptable.

Licensure Requirement:
No specific licensure is required for this position.
