Lead Compliance Officer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lead Compliance Officer to join our team at Public Storage. As the largest owner and operator of self-storage facilities worldwide, we pride ourselves on maintaining a work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in human resources management, with a focus on strategic HR roles and employee relations. They should possess a strong understanding of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, EEO, ADA, and FLSA.

This role is responsible for ensuring company-wide compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and support business objectives.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on the location in Plano, Texas. We offer a competitive benefits package and opportunities for career growth in a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, including overtime, minimum wage, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting HR compliance and ensure the company remains compliant with all relevant laws.
  • Partner with internal audit and manage responses to external audits or investigations.
  • Provide guidance on HR compliance matters to leaders and ensure consistent and compliant HR practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years in human resources management, with a focus on strategic HR roles and employee relations.
  • Strong analytical, consulting, and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR technology systems (HRIS, ATS, LMS).
