Job Summary

The County of Chester is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team. As a Reception and Records Clerk, you will provide front desk and telephone coverage, gather criminal case file paperwork, and perform various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support, including typing, filing, copying, and processing paperwork.
  • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate person.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Perform payroll entry and attendance tracking.
  • Maintain office supplies and perform miscellaneous data entry tasks.
  • May be required to provide cashier services.
  • Maintain logs and ensure accuracy.
  • Create and maintain calendars in Outlook.
  • Perform other office functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Six months to one year of general office experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and handle confidential matters.
  • Basic spelling, grammar, and math skills.
  • General computer knowledge.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of county management.

Preferred Skills

  • One to two years of general office experience and skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Basic accounting skills.

Computer Skills

  • General computer skills.
  • Basic Word skills.
  • Basic Excel skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Outlook skills (Email and Calendar).
  • Basic Internet skills (for research purposes).
