Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Business Development to join our team at Friedman Real Estate. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the construction sector, developing and implementing a comprehensive business development strategy, and collaborating with our leadership team to achieve company growth targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve company growth targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the construction sector, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, and services.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals to potential clients, showcasing the company's capabilities and competitive advantages.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Collaborate with other team members as part of our Integrated Project Delivery process to ensure client success on every project.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
  • Monitor and report on business development activities, including pipeline progress, with oversight by division leadership.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance our brand awareness and reputation.
  • Provide input into marketing strategies and campaigns to support business development efforts.
  • Lead the development of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of experience in business development, preferably within the commercial construction or general contracting industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly driven and motivated to source, win, and close opportunities with new clients.
