Job Title: Steel Erector/Metal Building Lead

Beck & Hofer Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Steel Erector/Metal Building Lead to join our team. As a Steel Erector/Metal Building Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the erection of pre-engineered metal buildings and ensuring the successful execution of construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in pre-planning of work for steel crew, oversee safety procedures, quality of workmanship, and morale of the crew
  • Conduct steel erection within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.
  • Conduct a safe and clean worksite with employees and subcontractors and making sure all are compliant with OSHA standards and company safety policies
  • Report to supervisor of orders for tools, equipment and materials to be delivered at specific times to conform to work schedules. Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications.
  • Direct unloading of steel deliveries and inspect and properly stage delivered material
  • Provide direction to crew members, ensuring work quality and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other trades (electrical, plumbing, etc.) as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of work progress and materials used.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5 or more years related experience and/or training
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a crew effectively.
  • Knowledge of steel erection techniques and safety practices.
  • Certified, trained, and authorized to operate construction equipment
  • Trained and qualified in rigging and signal person operations
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, but not required.
