Logistics Coordinator Job Summary

FedUp Foods, a leading functional beverage manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize the transportation and distribution of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics Operations Management: Manage logistics activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular risk assessments to mitigate hazards.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practices for logistics, including vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to enhance operational performance.
  • Logistics Planning and Execution: Plan, manage, and evaluate logistics operations by liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies, and customers.
  • Logistics Process Improvement: Create and implement logistics principles, policies, and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Logistics Problem-Solving: Deliver solutions to logistics challenges while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary constraints.
  • Transportation Management: Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs, and negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers.
  • Carrier Management: Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, or frequencies and select carriers/suppliers, monitoring their performance against established criteria.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures for product transit and delivery.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve issues related to transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, and customer concerns.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Sustainability: Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities to ensure processes are environmentally friendly.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Adhere to GMP policies when in the production facility and encourage team members to do the same.
  • Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities: Understand and comply with SQF policies, particularly regarding pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field preferred. At least 5 years of experience in logistics preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Proven experience in logistics, warehouse operations, and inventory management. Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
