As a Senior Construction Casualty Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in our National Accounts division. This position is designed for an individual with substantial expertise in underwriting within the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and underwrite both new and renewal business, adhering to established underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with various Line of Business representatives to address business needs effectively.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with agents and brokers to enhance business retention and acquisition efforts.
- Actively seek opportunities for renewal and new accounts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct thorough assessments with key distributors to pinpoint growth opportunities.
- Engage in broker and customer interactions with a strategic approach.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements for Senior Level III:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of 5 years in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10 years in Claims or Underwriting Support, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3 years in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 8 years in Claims or Underwriting Support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in a collaborative team environment.
Basic Requirements for AVP Level IV:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 7 years in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 14 years in Claims or Underwriting Support, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 5 years in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 12 years in Claims or Underwriting Support.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of commercial Construction Casualty Underwriting.
- Established relationships with brokers in relevant markets.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
