Job Summary:

The Senior Process Development Engineer will lead the research, development, and testing of new products, advanced processes, and raw materials. This role is essential in shaping the future of cable technology by supporting the product roadmap and addressing emerging technical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Collaboration:
Report to the Cable Engineering Director. Work with Product and Process Engineering, New Ventures, and R&D teams to develop strategies for innovative cable performance and manufacturing processes. Act as a mentor, coach, consultant, and team member in developing new products, processes, materials, and technologies.

Innovation & Development:
Lead the introduction of new products, processes, and materials. Support new cable product development, including market strategy and process improvement.

Market & Technology Analysis:
Stay updated on technological advancements in the cable interconnect market. Report potential impacts and opportunities to management. Develop strategies to incorporate new technologies.

Technology Evaluation:
Evaluate new technologies and companies for advanced cable development. Assess the validity of technology claims, Technology Readiness Levels, and conduct Technoeconomic Analyses. Benchmark competitive products and develop strategies for technology integration.

Networking & Relationship Building:
Build relationships with internal technologists, customers, suppliers, industry experts, and academic thought leaders.

Intellectual Property & Documentation:
Develop intellectual property. Prepare technical reports and white papers.

Required Experience:
10+ years of experience in process development, manufacturing, and materials development. Proven leadership skills in engineering project teams. 3-5 years of experience in engineering project management. Expertise in manufacturing processes. Knowledge of polymer properties and processing, especially fluoropolymers, is preferred. Experience in material characterization is preferred. Experience with supply chain or development partnerships. Expertise in empirical experimentation methodologies, including Design of Experiments and other statistical methods. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field. An advanced degree is preferred.
