Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Properties Maintenance Technician to join our team at AKHIRE, INC. This is a temp to hire position with opportunity for permanent, long-term employment and a benefits package after an approx. 90-day probationary period for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform necessary maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the Property's portfolio.
  • Utilize skills associated with carpentry, plumbing, welding, electrical, masonry, and related property and facility maintenance trades to ensure proper maintenance and repair of assets.
  • Work independently, applying discretion in determining proper work methods and analyzing preventative maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members, offering support when necessary.
  • Continuously increase working knowledge of properties and skills required to perform various tasks.
  • Develop strong interpersonal skills to conduct business in a manner that attracts and retains tenants.
Requirements
  • At least two (2) years maintenance experience or experience in a related field required.
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in COMMERCIAL facilities maintenance.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Alaska Driver's License.
  • Possession of a functional, insured vehicle.
  • Ability to be insured by company's auto insurance.
  • Desired greater experience and skills in one or more of the following trades: building construction, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, welding, and auto mechanics.
  • Basic knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment of facilities maintenance.
  • General knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment and practices of related facility maintenance disciplines such as HVAC, controls, mechanical, and electrical.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in facilities maintenance and carpentry work.
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to learn.
  • Limited ability to interpret plans and sketches associated with the building trades and some knowledge of HVAC, controls, mechanical, and electrical.
  • Ability to perform work using the tools and equipment of the carpentry and building trades.
  • Complete background check and drug screening required for this job.
