Automation Systems Engineer

Role Overview:

Entegris is on the lookout for a skilled Automation Systems Engineer to enhance our operations. This pivotal position will support our business unit by implementing automation solutions for conventional machining equipment across various operational cells. The selected candidate will outline the necessary steps, processes, and requirements to integrate robotics and other automation technologies, driving increased efficiency within our machining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to establish efficiency goals for automation across different work centers.
  • Develop a comprehensive action plan with measurable metrics and timelines to achieve defined objectives, culminating in a business case that outlines anticipated efficiencies and financial implications.
  • Lead discussions on cell/system design with integrators and internal teams, overseeing installation and validation activities.
  • Refine processes and requirements while creating a testing and implementation timeline, with trials conducted in designated labs before rollout.
  • Monitor and report on progress, successes, challenges, and obstacles, comparing outcomes against original targets and metrics, with monthly updates as required.
  • Facilitate the formation and execution of a cross-functional team to drive initiatives forward.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in robotics or automation.
  • Proficient understanding of ergonomic and automation safety standards.
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with Solidworks and Studio 5000.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional projects.
  • Capacity to identify and engage decision-makers through strategic questioning and active listening.
  • Experience in ISO 9000/14000 environments is advantageous.
  • Must comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations.
