The Brokerage Risk division provides guidance to Fidelity's dynamic individual investor operations, fostering lasting relationships with self-directed clients and assisting them in their financial planning and investment endeavors. This role is primarily focused on performing risk evaluations, aiding operational teams in analyzing intricate scenarios, and bolstering essential elements of our risk governance framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate dedicated risk governance meetings, including risk committees
- Examine complex workflows and data to pinpoint risk factors, assess control effectiveness, and identify control deficiencies
- Propose risk mitigation strategies, collaborate with management on solutions, and drive remediation efforts as necessary
- Promptly investigate incidents, ascertain root causes, and recommend corrective measures
- Articulate complex matters by summarizing them into clear reports and presentations
- Efficiently manage multiple projects and obligations within set timelines
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree (mandatory)
- MBA or other advanced degree with strong academic performance (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in risk, compliance, legal, or audit roles within complex financial services organizations, such as asset management firms, banks, or regulatory bodies (required)
- Technical proficiency in querying and analyzing data to support business and operational assessments (required)
- Proven ability to independently meet the expectations of this role (required)
- Familiarity with brokerage products and services, brokerage operations, or client service operations, including knowledge of regulatory standards (required)
- Capability to deliver engaging, persuasive presentations and reports (required)
- Experience with Archer GRC (preferred)

About the Team
The Brokerage Risk team supports Fidelity's retail distribution sector, focusing on empowering self-directed customers to achieve their financial objectives. This dedicated group of risk professionals collaborates closely with business leaders and cross-functional partners to ensure comprehensive risk management throughout the brokerage operations—from frontline staff to executive leadership. In this capacity, you will provide risk advisory support on significant firm initiatives and new products and services that directly influence a vast number of self-directed investors.
The base salary range for this position is $71,000-$112,000 per year. Placement within this range will depend on job responsibilities, geographic location, and the candidate's relevant experience.
