Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Development Specialist to join our team at the University of Kansas. As a key member of our Assessment and Evaluation team, you will play a critical role in the development of high-quality, standards-based assessments for mathematics education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of test items and test forms, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and curricular standards.
  • Collaborate with senior test development professionals and external experts to review and refine test items, ensuring high standards of quality and alignment.
  • Contribute to the development of construct definitions and task models grounded in Evidence Centered Design.
  • Assist with training item writers and external contributors on test development processes and best practices.
  • Document approaches, processes, and lessons learned in real-time, contributing to the development of technical reports and instructional supports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, education, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience applying knowledge of next-generation curricular standards to instruction, curriculum, or assessment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience using technology, including Microsoft Office products, Skype, Zoom, and/or other web-based systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in mathematics, education, or a related field.
  • Experience with content management systems or quality control procedures.
  • At least one year of teaching and/or assessment experience with students with special needs.
