Software Test Engineer Co-Op

Fresenius Medical Care is a leader in renal care, driven by a commitment to innovate, educate, and advocate for breakthroughs in the field. As a key member of the Software group, the candidate will support the design, development, and maintenance of NxStage's software-based medical device products and supporting software. The candidate will gain experience with software test automation, Continuous Integration (CI), embedded systems, GUI systems, and medical device standards ISO 13485 Quality Management System and IEC 62304 Software Life Cycle Process.

Responsibilities:
  • Add new features and functionality to the software test automation framework
  • Maintain and update the test automation framework code as needed
  • Support integration of automated tests with continuous integration (CI) servers
  • Automate test cases
  • Support manual testing using embedded test tools like debuggers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters when needed
  • Work closely with Software Test Engineers and Developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve issues
  • Ensure all activities conform to design controls and are properly documented

Requirements:
  • BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
  • Programming experience
  • Knowledge of embedded programming, components like sensors, motors preferred
  • Technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation
  • Beginning analytical and design skills
  • Basic knowledge of project lifecycles, software development environments, and source control techniques
