POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Engineering Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and managing the Quality Engineering Team's operations. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, this role involves leading a skilled team of Quality Department professionals to achieve both customer and organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to internal protocols as well as compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards.
This position requires the application of expertise in various disciplines, including manufacturing processes and aviation repair, alongside the regulations governing civil aviation. Daily collaboration with other specialists within the organization is essential for fostering knowledge growth and ensuring effective performance in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the timely resolution of customer complaints and warranty investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, technical reporting, and customer communication.
- Enhance the effectiveness of preventative measures derived from investigations or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Audit product work instruction packages produced by engineering, ensuring compliance with OEM requirements, current customer work instructions, and industry standards.
- Review and approve maintenance release certificates on a daily basis.
- Provide direct managerial oversight for the department and its personnel.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives for the Quality Engineering team.
- Inspire, mentor, and guide team members to achieve targeted outcomes.
- Coordinate and direct all activities of the Quality Engineering Department in alignment with the Quality Manager.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in leading teams in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Demonstrated success in resolving customer issues and managing warranty investigations.
- Effective communication skills across multiple teams and levels during problem-solving processes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline, with a focus on quality control.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification (CQE) is advantageous.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
- Above-average computer skills and familiarity with standard software applications.
- Experience in interpreting and applying basic shop mathematics and utilizing measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Compliance with the requirements set forth by the FAA or other regulatory entities, if applicable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position may involve pre-employment testing, including fitness for duty assessments and vision examinations.
- Adherence to general shop safety protocols is required, including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods during the shift.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of items weighing up to 10 lbs may be necessary.
