Position Overview
The Clinical Sales Specialist (CSS) will be tasked with engaging targeted Health Care Providers (HCPs) and medical groups, including Dermatologists, Pediatric Dermatologists, Pediatricians, and mid-level practitioners as identified by the Sales Leadership. The CSS will play a crucial role in promoting the appropriate use of VP-102 and other products from Verrica Pharmaceuticals Inc. This position requires educating HCPs and their staff on the clinical advantages of VP-102 while ensuring a seamless physician/patient experience through the delivery of clinical data and patient education. The CSS will report directly to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and will be expected to meet sales revenue objectives and key performance indicators, which include call frequency on targeted clients, time spent in the designated territory, and market growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve and surpass sales objectives while excelling in execution.
- Lead the successful introduction of VP-102 into the market.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings and communications with HCPs and other healthcare stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Business Reimbursement Team to ensure access and reimbursement for products.
- Work cross-functionally with all Verrica stakeholders to meet customer needs and respond to requests promptly.
- Implement marketing strategies as directed by RSMs and the Marketing team.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with key physicians and clients.
- Meet performance metrics as outlined by the RSM and Sales Leadership.
- Execute brand strategies and tactical plans effectively.
- Utilize company-approved materials to educate HCPs and promote the marketing message.
- Develop a high level of clinical knowledge and product expertise to effectively communicate with HCPs.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Represent Verrica in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Business or Health Sciences. Significant and relevant sales experience in the life sciences or biopharmaceutical industry is essential. Proven success in working within institutions and large group practices, along with demonstrated ability to engage all stakeholders in these environments, is crucial. Experience in Medical Dermatology is preferred, particularly in launching new brands in this field. Candidates should possess a strong track record of achieving sales results, developing KOL/customer relationships, and collaborating across sales, market access, and channel teams. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to evolving business challenges is vital.

Additional Information
Experience in buy and bill or specialty pharmacy is a plus. This role requires overnight travel and participation in weekend medical congresses and corporate events. In-person visits with HCPs and other healthcare clients are essential for this position.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to sit for extended periods at a desk and meet normal office operation requirements regarding lifting, standing, and walking. Frequent travel may be required as part of routine responsibilities.
