The School of Engineering & Applied Science (SEAS) at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a highly qualified candidate for an Academic General Faculty (AGF) position in the Center for Applied Mathematics (APMA). This tenure-ineligible position involves teaching undergraduate mathematics to students in SEAS, with a primary responsibility of teaching six APMA courses per academic year. In addition to teaching, faculty in this position will engage in service to the department, university, and professional community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate mathematics courses to students in SEAS

  • Contribute to the development of the APMA curriculum
Requirements

Candidates without a PhD will be considered for Lecturer ranks. Candidates at professorial ranks must have received a doctorate or equivalent degree in applied mathematics, mathematics, mathematics education, engineering, or a closely related field with a strong mathematical component by the start of their appointment. We seek applicants who can teach across the APMA curriculum and demonstrate a commitment to innovative and evidence-based teaching practices.
