Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree with at least twenty-four credit hours in accounting, alongside four years of professional experience in accounting or financial auditing.
Substitutions:
A CPA certificate may substitute for the degree and some experience. A master's degree in relevant fields can also substitute for one year of required experience.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Plan, organize, and oversee fiscal programs.
2. Manage a team of at least two professional fiscal staff.
3. Prepare complex financial reports related to budget development, cost reporting, and revenue forecasting.
4. Establish performance standards and monitor the productivity of fiscal units.
5. Provide training and development opportunities for supervisors to enhance team performance.
Work Environment:
This position may be utilized by various state agencies, and the role requires collaboration with higher-level fiscal or administrative positions. The complexity of programs managed and the size of the subordinate staff will distinguish this role from others in the accounting management hierarchy.
