In the role of Ag/Commercial Loan Officer, you will be instrumental in assisting our agricultural and commercial clientele by delivering the financial solutions essential for their growth and success.

Your primary focus will be on establishing and nurturing relationships with a diverse array of entrepreneurs within the community, comprehending their distinct financial requirements, and providing customized lending options.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Forge and sustain relationships with agricultural and commercial clients, encompassing agribusiness and a spectrum of commercial business owners.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of prospective borrowers and identify suitable lending solutions.
  • Design loan packages tailored to the specific needs of our varied clientele, including operational loans, equipment financing, and real estate loans.
  • Oversee loan portfolios and proactively manage any potential risks or challenges.
  • Actively generate leads and referrals for deposit accounts, such as checking, savings, money market, and certificate of deposit (CD) accounts.
  • Remain updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes impacting the relevant business sectors.
  • Collaborate with fellow banking team members to cross-sell additional products and services to agricultural clients.

Supervisory Duties

This position may entail supervising designated staff members.

Work Environment

This role operates within a professional office setting, routinely utilizing standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time role, with typical working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel Requirements

Some travel may be necessary between offices on a limited basis.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, agricultural economics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial and/or agricultural lending or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of agricultural and commercial operations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and trust with clients.
  • Strong financial analysis capabilities, including the ability to assess credit risk and structure loan packages.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance requirements related to agricultural lending.
  • A proven history of meeting or surpassing sales targets and objectives.
