PeaceHealth is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a vibrant Inpatient Palliative Care team in Vancouver, Washington.

Medical, spiritual, and emotional assistance helps patients and their families to ease the symptoms of life-threatening illnesses. The ideal candidate will have one or more years post graduate experience in Inpatient Palliative Care. Candidates with a Palliative Care Certification are highly desired.

100% inpatient and ability to grow the service line in our community.
Southwest Medical Center has on-site complex case management teams, social workers, chaplains, and partnerships with the Ray Hickey Hospice House.
Full-time schedule; no call or weekend requirements.

Based in Vancouver, WA, is a not-for-profit Catholic health system employing approximately 17,000 caregivers, a multi-specialty medical group practice with more than 1,200 providers and 10 medical centers serving both urban and rural communities in Washington, Oregon, Alaska.

Within scope of practice and in alignment with both hospital staff bylaws and PHMGs physician supervision expectations, responsible for advanced level of nursing evaluation, clinical assessment, prescribing and monitoring medications and follow-up care for patient.

Effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues of the population in the practice while administering quality patient care.

Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral.

Gives directions to nursing and other staff.
Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
Maintains legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals and consultations according to established standards.

Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or ‘hands-on training’ and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice.

Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with patient, families, nursing staff, and other departments. (Personal responsibility for ongoing educational growth and collaborating with others to provide solutions for continued patient quality.

(PHSW Palliative Care:

Five years' advanced nursing practice preferred.
Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN) preferred.
Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
