Job Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner in our Psychiatric Primary Care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare to patients with common psychiatric illnesses or symptoms. You will work closely with primary care physicians to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with mental health needs. Your expertise will help ensure that patients receive comprehensive care, and you will be an integral part of our team's efforts to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide assessment and follow-up consultation for primary care physicians when mental health issues are present and beyond their scope of practice.
  2. Support the smooth transition or stabilization of members discharged from mental health care back into primary care for follow-up and ongoing management.
  3. Coordinate with the mental health department and serve as a point of contact resource for primary care in the coordination of care for members with co-occurring mental and physical illnesses.
  4. Perform all other duties as required by licensure and the organization to assist in the care and management of members with psychiatric issues or illnesses.
  5. Participate in on-call responsibilities, including backup for Ambulatory Psychiatrists and coverage of on-call duties.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience providing services within a mental health clinic or agency.
  • PMHNP from an accredited program or equivalent requirements to meet State Licensure.
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
  • Nurse Practitioner License (in the state where care is provided).
  • Nurse Practitioner National Certificate from American Association for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMHNP from an accredited program.
