Production Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Production Scheduler to join our team at Structure Medical.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments, as well as finished goods shipments, in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department priorities.
- Maintain the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system data to ensure timely delivery of products; review MRP reports to ensure all required actions are taken; create work orders.
- Establish lead-times (quotes and orders) and lot sizes.
- Monitor demand, production, and inventory to help provide timely production alternatives and make necessary schedule changes to fulfill customer demand; monitor backorders of all assigned parts while communicating backorder information to internal departments.
- Analyze the progress of production and outside processing; review factors that affect the product delivery schedule to identify bottlenecks; recommend actions for resolution.
- Plan production based on sales forecasts, current inventory levels, and outstanding purchase orders; adjust for variations that occur.
- Review the production schedule and verify that required materials are available and approved by the Quality department.
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, service support, reliability, and selection.
- Discuss defective goods with inspection or quality control personnel, suppliers, and others to determine the origin and take corrective action.
- Determine when work orders need to be released to the production floor.
- Create and update a weekly machining schedule and a daily secondary schedule.
- Produce order confirmation forms.
- Schedule Production Review meetings and provide follow-up tasks to the team; attend new product introduction meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred; supplemented by five or more years' material planning experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A general knowledge and understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA 21CFR820 as it pertains to the job.
- A working knowledge of the principles and methods of effective project management.
- Skilled in the use of computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Skilled in basic math, including but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometric construction, practical algebra, and metrics.
- Skilled in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands, and the ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Skilled in setting priorities that move projects through efficiently to achieve customer and quality objectives.
- Skilled in working independently and following through with assignments with minimal direction.
- Ability to analyze costs.
- Ability to use reasoning skills that minimize duplication of efforts, including but not limited to comparing, classifying, analyzing, and coordinating.
- Ability to multi-task while working with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to clearly communicate and understand information in English, both orally and in writing.
