Human Resources Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at HEI Hotels & Resorts. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our HR team, ensuring the smooth operation of our HR functions, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external guests, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with recruitment and hiring processes, including scheduling interviews, processing paperwork, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate employee relations events and recognition programs, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date department and associate files, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Process benefits enrollments and other functions electronically, as required.
  • Monitor and update job requisitions, communicating hotel job openings internally and externally.
  • Coordinate all pre-selection activities, including drug testing, reference checks, and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Process all transfer requests in a timely manner.
  • Respond to interviewed applicants via telephone or letter within the required time frame.
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources or Human Resources Manager in achieving goals and objectives as identified in the hotel's annual Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1 year of Hospitality experience within the hotel industry.
  • Bilingual - Spanish.
  • Experience in positions as HR Coordinator, or front desk roles that have provided exposure to hotel operations and guest services.
  • Knowledge of various hotel departments and how they function, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and event planning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
  • Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
