Surgical Tech PRN Position

At HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, we are committed to providing quality healthcare to our patients and communities. As a Surgical Tech PRN, you will play a vital role in our Operating Room team, assisting physicians with instruments during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians with instruments during surgical procedures
  • Meet Standards of Practice, manage supplies and equipment, and participate in maintaining proper inventory on all instruments in the department
  • Coordinate instrumentation and surgical supplies, and assist in surgical suite preparation for a variety of surgical cases
  • Have knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile environments, instrument care and handling
  • Work as a team player and meet the needs of the surgical team

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or military equivalent training in the Surgical Technologist role
  • Certification in Surgical Technology or verifiable Surgical Tech experience prior to 9/1/2009
  • Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred
