Job Summary

Horizon Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Behavioral Health to oversee the Behavioral Health Program at our facility. This is a leadership role that requires a strong background in mental health, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive treatment program that meets the needs of our patients.
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to nursing, counseling, and administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to coordinate and manage medical and psychosocial treatment plans.
  • Recruit, interview, and select qualified staff for the program.
  • Develop processes to audit and coordinate ongoing education to ensure all staff are trained on proper documentation of patient care.
  • Participate in assessing and reassessing program needs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Supervise patient care and set guidelines for accurately reporting and recording patient symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Maintain patient privacy and ensure quality of care.
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an acute care mental health setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a team and make decisions.
