We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Advocate to join our team at Elevate Patient Financial Solutions. As a Patient Advocate, you will play a critical role in connecting uninsured hospital patients with programs that will cover their medical expenses. You will work closely with patients, hospital staff, and government agencies to ensure that patients receive the financial assistance they need.
Key Responsibilities
* Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance
* Complete applications and follow through until approved
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation in applicable company programs and hospital systems
* Provide exceptional customer service skills at all times
* Participate in ongoing trainings to stay up-to-date on changing rules and regulations
* Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors
* Answer incoming telephone calls, make outbound calls, and track paperwork necessary for enrollment and renewal
Requirements
* Some college coursework preferred
* Prior hospital experience preferred
* Adaptability when dealing with changing processes, computer systems, and government programs
* Professional experience working with state and federal programs
* Critical thinking skills
* Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
