Job Title: Clinical Director of Speech-Language Pathology

Job Summary:

The Clinical Director of Speech-Language Pathology is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the clinical operations and strategic direction of the speech-language pathology department at Hammond Associates. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership and management skills, and the ability to drive initiatives that improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the speech-language pathology department.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of speech-language pathologists and support staff.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities and continuing education for team members.
  • Clinical Oversight:
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in speech-language pathology.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical programs and services.
  • Patient Care:
  • Oversee the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with speech, language, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and voice disorders.
  • Manage complex or high-risk cases as needed.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and innovative treatment approaches.
  • Program Development:
  • Identify opportunities for program growth and improvement.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new services and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to expand service reach and impact.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Implement quality assurance and performance improvement programs.
  • Collect and analyze data on patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve any clinical issues or concerns promptly.
  • Administration:
  • Prepare and manage the departmental budget.
  • Oversee scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and reporting.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Foster effective communication within the department and with other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
  • Represent the department in management team meetings.
  • Research and Education:
  • Stay current with advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for staff, patients, and the community.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment and intervention for a variety of speech and language disorders.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in program development and management.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Advanced training in Augmentative and Alternative Communication a plus.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require some travel between different client and clinic locations.
  • The role involves both direct patient care and administrative responsibilities.
  • Flexibility in work hours may be necessary to meet the needs of the department.
