About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Same Day Care Oncology team as a PRN (as needed) staff member. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Draw blood from ports, central lines, and peripheral IV access.
  • Maintain patient care standards and ensure that patient care functions, such as assessment, treatment, and documentation, are completed safely and effectively.
  • Initiate and document appropriate interventions, following established oncology protocols to maintain clean and safe working environments.
  • Safeguard yourself and others against the hazards of toxic drugs, dispose of hazardous waste according to approved protocol.
  • Perform injections and IV therapy (IV starts, PICC line/Port Access) utilizing aseptic technique.
  • Perform therapeutic phlebotomy in accordance with physician orders.
  • Evaluate lab data in conjunction with the provider to provide appropriate care to the patient.
  • Provide patient education at chairside regarding therapies the patient is receiving.
  • Evaluate side effects and toxicities of therapy and provide for their management.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Oncology Certification Nurse (OCN) certification required within 1 (one) year of hire or when eligible based on ONCC criteria.
  • Hematology/Oncology experience preferred.
