As a Packaging Design Specialist, you will be responsible for developing packaging concepts for various products, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be crucial in creating functional and cost-effective designs, collaborating with internal teams, and reviewing packaging efficiency. This role will support the rebranding of existing product lines and the development of packaging for pharmaceutical and drug/device combination products. Your responsibilities will include creating and updating packaging documentation, developing and executing testing protocols, assessing and improving material testing procedures, investigating new technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, inspecting incoming packaging shipments, coordinating plant trials, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Create and update packaging documentation, such as bills of materials, specifications, and assembly instructions.
* Develop and execute testing protocols for packaging components and shipping studies.
* Assess and improve material testing procedures, incorporating new methods as needed.
* Investigate new technologies to enhance line performance and reduce costs.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to meet project timelines.
* Inspect incoming packaging shipments and maintain material specifications.
* Coordinate plant trials and analyze results to determine packaging suitability.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for labeling and packaging.
* Support artwork approval and layout processes.
* Troubleshoot packaging equipment issues.

**Requirements:**

* Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or Package Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* 2-5 years of packaging design experience, preferably in cosmetics and consumer goods.
* Strong understanding of packaging engineering principles, tests, and equipment.
* Familiarity with manufacturing methods and machinery.
* Proficiency in creating 2D drawings.
* Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to travel occasionally, if needed (10-20%).
