Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team at G. L. Homes. As a key member of our service department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the satisfaction of our homeowners by providing exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist all homeowners visiting the service department, responding to their inquiries and submitting new service requests.
  • Schedule service request reviews with superintendents for homeowners submitting new issues.
  • Take the time to review all open issues with homeowners, if requested.
  • Dispatch emergencies, when necessary.
  • Advise management of any situation requiring immediate attention.
  • Follow up with sub-contractors to ensure all work tickets are completed according to company guidelines.
  • Perform administrative duties, including answering phones, filing, scanning, faxing, data processing, picking up messages, and returning calls in a timely manner.
  • Follow up with AWAs (Additional Work Authorizations) to ensure sub-contractors are paid in a timely basis.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of previous customer service experience required.
  • Experience working with a residential builder or in a similar field preferred but not required.
  • Interpersonal skills - must enjoy working with customers and maintain a professional and personable attitude at all times.
  • Customer service skills - must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a friendly attitude.
  • Capable of handling difficult clientele.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Good computer skills - must have experience using Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Teamwork a must - ability to establish rapport and develop good working relationships with all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Multi-tasking a must - show initiative to meet deadlines and work on several tasks simultaneously.
  • Good organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
