Job Summary

This role is a key part of the Public Relations team at J Connelly, responsible for executing media relations services and supporting client relations and administrative duties where needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Media Outreach:
    • Determine suitable media outlets for clients and secure media placements through pitches and relationship-building.
    • Maintain relationships with various media contacts, including trades, broadcast, and national media.
    • Support colleagues in media pitching across accounts.
    • Contribute to strategic PR plan development and campaign execution.
    • Identify and secure editorial calendar opportunities for clients.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist Account Coordinators in reviewing and developing media analysis reports and distributing client media mentions.
    • Maintain call notes, agendas, project trackers, and client update communications.
    • Support internal team members with other clients, business development, and company projects.
  • Client Service:
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
    • Participate in new client onboarding, including agenda development for discovery meetings/calls.
  • Content Creation:
    • Develop compelling story angles and timely pitches to generate consistent client exposure.
    • Create press releases, award nominations, social media posts, and other client-related materials.
  • Company Representative:
    • Represent J Connelly's brand values, approach, and high standards in all interactions with clients, media, and the public.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
    • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
    • Financial public relations experience is required.
    • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, handle details accurately, follow up independently, and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
    • Familiarity with PR software such as Cision, Meltwater, Sprout, Hootsuite, etc.

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on industry standards and market conditions.
