We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at BronxCare Health System. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees.
- Contribute to and participate in Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department.
- Utilize the principles of leadership established by the AONE and ANA to provide excellent customer service.
- Manage the flow of patients for assigned providers and monitor the progress of providers.
- Perform and record vital signs, including blood pressure, and perform phlebotomy, vision and hearing testing, and blood glucose testing.
- Assist patients in the use of assisted devices, transport patients and specimens, and prepare and maintain work areas with supplies.
- Report changes in patient conditions to the Registered Nurse and prepare patients for examination and assist providers during examinations.
- Two to three years of experience in an acute, chronic, or ambulatory care setting.
- Completed Patient Care Technician Course.
- BLS Certification of PCT (Phlebotomy/EKG) completion.
- High School or GED.
- Computer knowledge.
