Patient Care Technician

Job Summary
As a Patient Care Technician at BronxCare Health System, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees.
Contribute to and participate in Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department.
Utilize the principles of leadership established by the AONE and ANA to provide excellent customer service.
Manage the flow of patients for assigned providers and monitor their progress.
Perform patient preparation procedures, including cleaning the room, identifying patients, and instructing them on screening tools.
Accurately perform and record vital signs, including blood pressure, and perform phlebotomy, vision, and hearing testing.
Assist patients with using assisted devices, such as walkers, canes, and crutches, and transport patients and specimens to and from areas.
Prepare and maintain work areas with supplies and report changes in patient conditions to the Registered Nurse.
Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during examination.
Participate in fire drills and emergency drills as per hospital policy and handle and properly dispose of regulated medical waste.
Requirements
Two to three (2-3) years experience in an acute, chronic, or ambulatory care setting.
Completed Patient Care Technician Course.
BLS Certification of PCT (Phlebotomy/EKG) completion.
High School or GED.
Computer Knowledge.
