Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at BronxCare Health System. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support services in our healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and Maintain Positive Relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees, ensuring a professional and courteous interaction at all times.
  • Contribute to Performance/Quality Improvement: Participate in Performance/Quality Improvement activities, including data collection, analysis, and implementation of risk management and claims activities.
  • Ensure Safety and Security: Adhere to Safety and Security Policies, including Incident and Occurrence Reporting, Infection Control Policies and Procedures, and Patient and Customer Service standards.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Utilize the principles of leadership established by the AONE and ANA, presenting a positive attitude, respecting patient privacy, and maintaining a secure and trusting work environment.
  • Perform Clinical Responsibilities: Manage the flow of patients for assigned providers, monitor progress, and identify the next patient scheduled to go into the room based on policy.
  • Prepare Patients for Examination: Clean the room prior to patient entry, instruct patients to change into an exam gown when necessary, and complete screening tools in the EMR.
  • Accurately Perform and Record Vital Signs: Perform and record vital signs, including blood pressure, and accurately perform and record other clinical responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Two to three (2-3) years of experience in an acute, chronic, or ambulatory care setting, completed Patient Care Technician Course, and certification of PCT (Phlebotomy/EKG) completion.
  • Computer Knowledge: Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to the role.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, visitors, and other employees.
