Job Title: Nursing Clinical Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Nursing Clinical Instructor to join our team. As a Clinical Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching nursing students in a clinical setting, developing and implementing curriculum, and evaluating student progress.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach nursing students in a clinical setting, using approved course outcome guides and accurate syllabi.
  • Develop and implement curriculum, including lesson plans and instructional materials.
  • Evaluate student progress, including grading and providing feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to provide a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in institutional work, such as accreditation and shared governance, to advance the College mission.
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's in nursing program.
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum three years recent, demonstrated registered nursing experience.
  • Ability to be approved to teach at designated clinical site(s).
  • Maintains currency in applicable certifications; subject matter domain, and developments in field(s) of expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medical-surgical nursing practice in acute care settings within the past three years.
  • Prior experience supervising nursing students in a clinical setting.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Working Environment and Physical Requirements:

This position will involve on-site and off-site clinical teaching in Newport and Lincoln City. Travel between OCCC College sites, community sites, and hospitals will be required multiple times throughout each term. Periodic travel and overnight stays outside of Lincoln County may be required for meetings, professional development, and other purposes.

The use of tobacco and smoke-emitting materials and devices, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited on all of the college's campuses, including OCCC's building exteriors and parking lots.

This position requires the ability to lift or move clients or objects weighing up to 35 pounds, transfer patients/clients in and out of bed from stretchers and wheelchairs, and control a fall by slowly lowering the client to the floor.
