Senior Mechanical Engineer

Objective:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to innovative engineering solutions.
Position Overview:
  • Directs and manages the design, development, execution, and evaluation of engineering projects.
  • Exhibits exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Conducts in-depth research and applies findings to designated assignments.
  • Facilitates, organizes, and performs trade studies, alternative analyses, and capability assessments.
  • Manages multiple engineering initiatives concurrently.
  • Guides small project teams.
  • Engages in continuous collaboration and provides mentorship to colleagues.
  • Possesses knowledge of configuration management practices.
  • Demonstrates understanding of advanced system design methodologies.
  • Aids in resolving intricate technical challenges.
  • Interacts professionally in a collaborative environment.
  • Exhibits strong presentation abilities.
  • Prepares and delivers comprehensive briefings and supporting documentation to clients and senior management.
  • Maintains regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, peers, and leadership.
  • Contributes to the achievement of project milestones; failure to meet objectives may result in delays and require additional resources.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 10-15 years of relevant experience. Advanced degrees may be considered for additional experience.
  • Proven experience in mechanical and hardware design.
  • Proficient in CAD software, including engineering drawing creation and dimensioning.
  • Familiar with hardware and electrical fabrication, integration, and testing of components and systems.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze requirements, capabilities, and operational impacts.
  • Strong commitment to problem-solving and delivering effective solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to visualize processes and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative work ethic.
  • Highly self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD.
  • Background in systems engineering and/or applications.
  • Familiarity with Army programs, particularly in aviation and missile defense.
  • Knowledge of design and operation of Army rocket launchers.
  • Master's degree in a STEM field is preferred.
Security Clearance:
  • Must possess an Active DoD Secret Clearance and maintain it.
Travel Expectations:
  • Occasional travel, not exceeding 15%.
  • If travel requires domestic flights or access to secure federal facilities, candidates must obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials.
Physical Demands:
  • The physical requirements for this role include the ability to remain stationary for extended periods, frequent walking, and the capability to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation Range: $107,604 - $173,854 per year
