Job Summary

Commercial Steel Erection, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Specialist to join our team. As an Apprentice Driver, you will learn to drive a truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations in our apprenticeship program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate tractor, trailer, forklifts, and/or JLG-type man-lifts, and/or scissor-lifts and/or similar equipment.
  • Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and transport loads.
  • Load and unload truck in a safe and controlled manner to ensure safety of personnel and property.
  • Perform daily inspection on truck, equipment, and supplies.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs.
  • Wash and fuel truck upon return to yard.

Requirements:

  • Technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Commercial Driver's License.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
