As a Cloud Solutions Architect at General Dynamics Information Technology, your contributions will play a crucial role in safeguarding our clients' missions while proactively addressing future challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

As a member of the Cyber Consulting Team, you will:

  • Advise on optimal strategies for securely configuring both new and existing Cloud services within client environments.
  • Create Cloud configurations to be shared on GITHUB, utilizing terraform or native scripting services from cloud providers.
  • Establish rules for monitoring and alerting on Cloud configurations.
  • Collaborate with leading Cloud vendors, including Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, and Google, to evaluate the security features of their service offerings.
  • Assess and recommend Cloud resources while defining policies for enterprise-level integration across major Cloud platforms.

Impact of Your Role:

Your expertise will be instrumental in consulting with clients on the most effective methods for securely configuring Cloud services across various vendors.

You will also be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing tests against Cloud technologies to enhance system security and mitigate cyber risks.

By working closely with stakeholders, you will clarify specifications, requirements, and performance metrics, leveraging your engineering knowledge to document use cases and collaborate with service providers to ensure operational needs are met.


Principal Duties:
  • Analyze client requirements and provide innovative technical insights on cloud computing techniques and architectures.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and risks associated with Cloud misconfigurations, especially for systems handling sensitive data.
  • Define and update Cloud security standards to minimize risks linked to misconfigurations.
  • Establish monitoring approaches to ensure compliance with Cloud security standards.
  • Develop scripts, terraform files, and/or Cloud Development Kits (CDK) to facilitate automated implementation and validation of Cloud configuration standards.
  • Review and analyze compliance data to inform risk remediation strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior cloud development personnel.
  • May lead projects or tasks without direct management responsibilities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in cloud technology.

Qualifications:
Education:
Technical training, certifications, or a degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.

Experience:
10+ years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills:
Proven experience with one or more Cloud vendors and their native services (Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle). Experience with enterprise cybersecurity management platforms is also essential.

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to engineer and deploy IT capabilities effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment are necessary for making recommendations to management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Security Clearance:
TS/SCI w/Polygraph.

Desired Skills:
Experience in effective communication with diverse business partners, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.

Certifications:
AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, CCSP, CCSK, CISSP are preferred.
