Job Overview:


As a Cloud Solutions Architect at General Dynamics Information Technology, your contributions will be pivotal in safeguarding our clients' missions while proactively addressing future threats.

Your responsibilities will include providing expert guidance and support to the client's Cyber and Cloud technology initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Propose optimal strategies for securely configuring both new and existing Cloud services within the client's infrastructure.

2. Create Cloud configurations for hosting on GITHUB, facilitating access for project teams through terraform or native cloud vendor scripting services.

3. Establish rules for monitoring and alerting on Cloud configurations.
4. Collaborate with major Cloud vendors such as Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, and Google to evaluate the security features of their service offerings.
5. Assess and recommend Cloud resources while identifying policies for the enterprise across leading Cloud vendors.

Impact of the Role:

Your expertise will be instrumental in consulting with clients on the most effective methods for securely configuring Cloud services across various vendors.

Additionally, you will plan, prepare, and execute tests on Cloud technologies to enhance system security and mitigate cyber risks.

By coordinating with stakeholders throughout the organization, you will clarify specifications, requirements, and performance metrics, utilizing your engineering knowledge to document and formalize use cases for mission partners, while collaborating with service providers to ensure solutions align with operational needs.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer requirements and provide innovative technical expertise on cloud computing methodologies and architectures.
- Identify vulnerabilities and risks associated with Cloud misconfigurations, especially for systems handling highly sensitive data.
- Define and update Cloud security standards necessary to minimize risks linked to Cloud misconfigurations.
- Develop an approach to monitor compliance with specific Cloud security standards for systems operating in the Cloud.

- Create scripts, terraform files, and/or Cloud Development Kits (CDK) to assist project teams in automating the implementation and validation of Cloud configuration standards.

- Review and analyze Cloud configuration compliance data to inform risk remediation and mitigation strategies.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of evolving technologies as assigned.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to less experienced cloud development personnel.
- May lead tasks or projects (not in a managerial capacity).
- Consult with executives and clients to deliver complex cloud development solutions.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert in cloud technology.

Qualifications for Success:

Education:
Technical training, Certification(s) and/or Degree (Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.)

Skills:
Demonstrated experience with one or more Cloud vendors and their native services/environments (Amazon, Microsoft, Google and/or Oracle)
Demonstrated experience with enterprise cybersecurity management platforms.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated experience engineering and deploying IT capabilities.
Proven ability to effectively triage and resolve technical issues independently.
Demonstrated sound judgment and problem-solving skills necessary for making recommendations to management.
Strong working knowledge of information security policies and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Security Clearance Level:
TS/SCI w/Polygraph

Desired Skills and Abilities :


Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse business partners and clients, along with a demonstrated capacity to build strong interpersonal relationships; strong analytical and organizational skills; self-motivated; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; adept at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Experience with implementing and assessing security controls supporting authorization and accreditation processes.
Experience supporting the NIST Risk Management Framework.
Experience with Cross Domain Systems.
Project management experience is preferred.

Certifications:
AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, CCSP, CCSK, CISSP
