Job Summary

As a Patient Access Representative at Vidant Health, you will be the first point of contact for patients and families, creating a positive and welcoming experience. Your role will involve scheduling appointments, registering patients, and collecting necessary information to ensure accurate billing. You will also serve as a liaison between physician offices and our healthcare system, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless communication.

Key Responsibilities

* Schedule appointments and register patients for various services, including emergency, ambulatory, and inpatient care
* Collect and verify patient information, including demographic data and insurance details
* Ensure accurate and timely billing by collecting necessary signatures and documentation
* Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers
* Collaborate with physician offices and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and scheduling

Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
* 2 years of customer service experience, with 1-2 years in a healthcare setting preferred
* Excellent communication, detail orientation, and organizational skills
* Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records systems

Work Environment

This is a PRN/As-needed position with no benefits. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. We value diversity and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
