Position: Compliance and Risk Management Specialist

Location: San Jose, CA - Hybrid

Contract Duration: 6 months

Role Overview:

The Compliance and Risk Management Specialist will engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to information security policies and the effective implementation of compliance frameworks. This role is pivotal in managing compliance-related issues with clients, suppliers, and partners while providing guidance to internal teams on risk and compliance obligations. Candidates should possess practical knowledge of various security, privacy, and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
  • Support the dissemination of security standards and operational procedures across the organization.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Identify control deficiencies and contribute to the development and monitoring of new controls.
  • Participate in security incident response activities as necessary.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Address and comply with external regulatory requirements.
  • Establish a formal risk management program, including a risk registry and assessment processes.
  • Develop a security configuration baseline for all network devices and endpoints.
  • Collaborate with IT to create a change management process.
  • Work with vulnerability management teams to ensure remediation efforts are executed.
  • Create an Information Security Dashboard to present metrics from various security controls.
  • Contribute to the information security awareness training program across the organization.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in security, particularly in a Risk/Compliance capacity.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as Splunk Enterprise Security and Netskope CASB.
  • One or more relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC).
  • Experience in the Semiconductor or R&D sectors is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of various compliance and risk management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, IPSEC, routing protocols, 802.1x).
  • Documented success in Risk Management, Auditing/Compliance, Configuration Management, Employee Education, and Vulnerability Management.
