Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our patients while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and front office staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical intake with patients, including taking and recording vital signs and patient history.
  • Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam preparation, and other tasks.
  • Complete patient referrals and callbacks daily.
  • Maintain clinical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage of biohazards.
  • Clean exam and procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a medical assistant training program and/or 1+ years of medical assistant experience in an urgent care, physician, or emergency room setting.
  • Direct experience with clinical intake, patient data collection, laboratory specimen collection, EKG testing, and basic wound care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic medical records and practice management systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
