Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Support Specialist is tasked with facilitating the execution of various initiatives within the Field Office that deliver case management and a spectrum of social services aimed at enhancing the social welfare and economic independence of refugees and immigrants. This role involves collaborating with team members to maintain social service cases by evaluating client requirements, aiding in the formulation and execution of service strategies, recommending and securing necessary services, and collecting information essential for case managers to assist clients in obtaining suitable living arrangements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guarantee the precision and promptness of all social services rendered to clients.
  • Assist in the allocation of funds to meet client needs.
  • Support program staff in achieving established program objectives.
  • Help Case Managers with file upkeep by refreshing case management systems, reporting databases, and physical records while ensuring confidentiality of information.
  • Execute other job-related tasks as directed by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and/or a minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and writing abilities, particularly in collaborative settings.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible, capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively in a challenging work environment.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills; ability to function both as a team member and independently, demonstrating a high level of self-motivation to meet goals and deadlines in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and database management systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with partner organizations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of the organization by showing respect for others, maintaining confidentiality, and appreciating a multicultural work environment.
  • Must possess a strong dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced individuals.
  • Compliance with the organization's mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy is required.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of the organization's Orientation and Training program.
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisors or Human Resources.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to utilize manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and auditory acuity.
  • Engagement in repetitive motions, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental focus.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
  • Basic quantitative skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
