Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Support Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting the Finance Coordinator and Field Office Director with financial oversight and operational management tasks related to the Albany office's core activities. This position is integral to the execution of various programs, which includes managing credit card transactions, facilitating supply purchases, and addressing technological requirements. Responsibilities may also involve organizing office relocations and ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared for grant submissions. The Program Support Specialist may also provide additional support to programs serving refugee clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accuracy and promptness in all social services delivered to clients.
  • Assist in the allocation of funds to meet client needs.
  • Support program staff in achieving established objectives.
  • Carry out other job-related tasks as directed by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with an emphasis on collaboration.
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; capable of working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and various database applications.
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships with partner organizations.

  • Dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced individuals.
  • Compliance with USCRI's mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy is required.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training program.
  • Participation in additional training as determined by supervisors or Human Resources.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, visual, and auditory acuity.
  • Capacity for repetitive motions, prolonged sitting and standing, and sustained mental focus.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, along with bending and carrying.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and standard measurements).
