Patient Care Technician

Job Summary: The Patient Care Technician - Health Unit Coordinator plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team. Key responsibilities include collecting and recording patient data, obtaining vital signs, and performing routine urinary catheter care. Additionally, this role involves assisting patients with activities of daily living, answering call lights, and maintaining clean and organized work areas. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to maintain confidentiality, and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collects and records patient data, reporting information and observations to nursing team members
* Obtains and records patient vital signs, height, weight, nutritional intake, and output
* Performs routine urinary catheter care
* Assists patients with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, dressing, and eating
* Answers and responds to patient call lights and requests
* Maintains clean and organized work areas
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Less than 1 year of experience
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
