Job Summary

The District Sales Manager (DSM) is a key field leader who supports and directs stores within a given geographic area to drive strategic product sell-through, deliver key business results, hire, and develop store associates. DSMs ensure that store operational principles are followed and that each store provides exceptional customer service by offering their expertise on Lids' products and services. DSMs are accountable for all aspects of their district performance.

Key Responsibilities

People & Training Development

  • Develop and implement a district-wide hiring strategy, including planning, recruitment, and training to ensure a strong and diverse team.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to Store Managers to enhance their leadership skills and improve store performance.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting open communication, respect, and teamwork among store associates.
  • Manage employee relations, including addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and administering progressive discipline.
  • Hold Store Managers accountable for managing and developing their store teams.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure that stores deliver exceptional customer service, achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), and sales targets by conducting regular store visits and providing feedback.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive customer engagement and loyalty, including promoting special offers and programs.
  • Manage and direct in-store team members to ensure optimal customer service and store operations.

Operations

  • Manage district operations, including scheduling, payroll, and inventory management to ensure efficient and effective store operations.
  • Monitor and analyze financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth and profitability, including managing inventory levels and optimizing store layouts.
Requirements
  • Four-year degree in business or a related field and one year of relevant experience, or two-year degree in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience, or three years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to produce sales results, minimize loss, and drive business growth.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop store associates.
  • Ability to work varying days and hours, based on business needs, and maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, certificate of auto insurance coverage, and the ability to drive an automobile.
  • Extensive travel (up to 90%) in a given geographic area, with the ability to drive for up to 100% of the daily work schedule.
