CAD Technician Job Description

The CAD Technician will play a crucial role in our Take-off/Drafting/Modeling team, utilizing specific CAD software to create, modify, analyze, or optimize 2D and 3D designs.

Main Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with project planning and bidding
  • Develop layout and machine control data for GPS equipment
  • Collaborate with project managers and field personnel on projects
  • Work with site and highway plan sets
  • Generate progress reports and as-built drawings
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Civil CAD software
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere
  • Demonstrates respect for coworkers and customers
Education and Experience:
  • Technical school certification, 2-year Associate's degree, or 2-3 years of position-related experience required
  • Experience with one of the following required:
  • Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Trimble Business Center
  • Bentley MicroStation
  • AGTEK
  • Carlson
  • Surveying or GPS experience a plus
  • Field or office construction background a plus
