Key Responsibilities- Assemble hydrogen valve parts into finished products while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Examine valve bodies and parts to ensure accuracy, including size, material, and machining.
- Consult with supervisors or leaders on questionable issues and ensure that assembly parts are available.
- Assemble parts in established sequences through established procedures to ensure quality of fit and operation.
- Operate pneumatic testing equipment to ensure valve integrity.
- Trim parts and valve linings to ensure proper fit and adjust valve parts to ensure proper fit.
- May assemble standard valves, specialty valves, and actuation equipment.
- Set up and perform special testing based on routing sheet specifications.
- Ensure that all routing sheet specifications are accomplished.
- Exercise judgment on product quality regarding casting quality, machining, and fit.
- Verify and record heat numbers and material markings for various customers.
- Advise coworkers and team leaders of special customer requirements.
- Participate actively in Operational Excellence and Quality processes, including project team involvement, problem-solving, and recommending solutions to enhance and improve departmental and/or company-wide business activities.
- Complete RTY data recordings for quality and process issues as required.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly 5S requirements.
- Perform QAD transactions as needed to transfer and back-flush material in proper sequence to maintain accurate inventory levels and status.
- Skill in the care and use of applicable hand and pneumatic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to work from verbal and written instructions, drawings, diagrams, and routing sheets.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Product knowledge sufficient to perform principal responsibilities with little supervision needed.
- High degree of physical and mental dexterity and visual attention for sustained periods.
- Ability to detect defects in products and exercise independent judgment on repair capability.
- Working knowledge of shop mathematics.
- Ability to sustain moderate physical effort, working with light to medium weight material.
- Lifting, bending, twisting, carrying, pushing, and pulling are common and repetitious.
