Job Description:

In a supportive role to a governmental entity, the specialist will manage case referrals and facilitate the intake and placement of eligible program participants:

  • Responds to emergency hotline inquiries and manages a resource email inbox;
  • Evaluates complex requests concerning vulnerable populations to ensure appropriate placement;
  • Assesses the necessary actions based on demographic data and individual circumstances, alongside the availability of care facilities;
  • Conducts initial assessments for placement and communicates findings to the relevant agency;
  • Documents cases and refers them to the appropriate personnel;
  • Maintains confidential records and files associated with cases;
  • Prepares reports detailing significant issues and transitions information to the next shift personnel;
  • Coordinates and provides updates on the status of placements throughout the intake process;
  • Responsible for data entry and verification for each case;
  • Reviews source documents to ensure the accuracy of input data through quality assurance measures;
  • May oversee the integrity of specific database information;
  • Investigates discrepancies in data and implements corrective actions as needed;
  • Performs additional administrative tasks as required.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • With a BA/BS degree, 2 years of relevant experience; with an AA/AS degree, 4 years of experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with immigrant, refugee, and underserved populations is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • This position includes rotating shift work 24/7, which may involve some telework.
  • Requires Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.
