Job Overview

Position Summary: As a leading figure in marketing and communications at The Conference Board, the Senior Director is responsible for crafting and delivering insightful experiences across various mediums, including written, audio, video, and in-person engagements. This role is pivotal in assisting prominent organizations in navigating challenges and leveraging opportunities to enhance societal contributions. Collaboration with other experts within the Marketing and Communications Center and across various business units is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the primary spokesperson for The Conference Board in designated fields, representing the organization at media events, conferences, and member engagements.
  • Planning, organizing, and facilitating roundtables, webcasts, and other member-focused meetings.
  • Providing expert advice on specific topics, collaborating with high-level professionals to amplify The Conference Board's impact through innovative projects and services.
  • Working alongside Member Development and other departments to attract new members and sponsors for publications and programs.
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and managing talent as necessary.
  • Coordinating with other Center Leaders to ensure integrated insights across various sectors.
  • Overseeing the creation of sales materials and program calendars for the Sales Enablement Team.
  • Enhancing the Center's performance by engaging members, identifying critical issues, shaping research and content, and developing innovative strategies.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a senior officer reporting directly to the CEO in relevant fields such as Marketing, Communications, or Insights.
  • In-depth knowledge of consumer and market trends, with a proven track record as a thought leader in marketing or communications.
  • Exceptional writing abilities, with published works focusing on marketing and communications in reputable journals.
  • Strong oral communication skills, with experience presenting findings to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient listening skills, capable of distilling member feedback into actionable insights.
  • Experience with various research methodologies, including survey design and focus group facilitation.
  • Robust understanding of the business landscape and marketing principles.
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience engaging with C-Suite executives on a peer-to-peer basis.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while managing multiple projects effectively.
  • Advanced degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with significant relevant experience.
