Job Summary

Arthur Grand Technologies Inc is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining our data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cabling and Termination: Install and terminate fiber optic cables, including copper termination, and ensure all connections are secure and meet industry standards.
  • Network Installation: Mount and install racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware, and ensure all equipment is properly grounded.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform continuity tests on horizontal and riser cables, use a volt-ohmmeter to identify issues, and troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cables.
  • Fiber Optic Installation: Install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors for both multi-mode and single-mode fiber, and terminate simplex and duplex jumper cords.
  • Splicing: Perform mechanical and fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable, and build entrance splices, maintenance space, and direct buried splices.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately complete all paperwork, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Industry certifications (Corning/FOA) and data center installation experience preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems, testing and troubleshooting MMF and SMF systems, and mechanical and fusion splicing experience.
  • Physical and Mental Requirements: Self-motivated, positive approach, professional, and able to work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in fiber optics.
  • OSP/Confined Space Entry Experience: Splicing experience in OSP and confined space entry.
